Detroit GreenWorks Solutions (DGWS) is funded through June 30, 2012 by the “Pathways Out of Poverty” program authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Detroit GreenWorks Solutions was awarded additional funding through the Green Jobs Innovation Fund with the Detroit Regional Workforce Fund, Jobs for the Future and the Department of Labor to continue training in weatherization, deconstruction, landscape technician and other upskill certificates to imporve chances for employment. Using the Center for Working Families model, we provide case management, workforce coaching, financial coaching and job development services to all clients in DGWS.

Detroit GreenWorks Solutions trains unemployed and underemployed residents as well as incumbent workers who live in Detroit. We train and place people in green-industry related jobs as well as jobs that use the broad range of skills learned in training. We place a speacial focus on encouraging women to participate in training for non-traditional work.
