About
In January 2010, the U.S. Department of Labor announced that Detroit GreenWorks Solutions was awarded a $4 million grant as part of the $150 million “Pathways Out of Poverty” program authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Detroit GreenWorks Solutions is one of 38 recipients of grants from the program in the country.
Detroit GreenWorks Solutions will use the $4 million over the next two years to train unemployed and underemployed residents in southwest Detroit. The goal is to place at least 360 individuals into green-industry related jobs.
